Aquarium Split
Aquarium Split is the largest marine aquarium in Croatia. Aquarium will be constantly enriched, starting from 130 different fish species. In addition to marine species, you can see various types of freshwater fish, turtles and crocodiles.
Located on the ground floor of an old villa on the quaint little Vranjic peninsula 8km from Split, this is a lovely spot for a family outing or a rainy day alternative. Fishing enthusiast Kuzma from Vis and his seven kids have realised their dream. Croatia’s biggest aquarium has 130 Adriatic species that swim among original amphorae and antique marine memorabilia in 22 tanks. You can stroke the rays, catch a fish to take home for dinner in their fishing pool or buy a shell in the gift shop.
On a total area of 800 m2, and 22 aquariums with total capacity of 380 m3 containing characteristic fish species of the Adriatic Sea. Some of the better known species are:
